The ADR Commission of the ICC Poland

The ADR Commission of the ICC Poland acts in the field of alternative dispute resolution (ADR).

The primary mission of the Commission is to popularise the use of and to develop ADR methods, as well as to promote them as effective techniques for resolving business disputes across various sectors of the economy. This applies in particular to mediation and other procedures administered by the ICC International Centre for ADR, such as dispute boards, expertise and DOCDEX.

This mission is carried out through:

  • information and training activities providing entrepreneurs and lawyers with the necessary knowledge and appropriate skills in the field of ADR; as well as
  • research initiatives aimed at both identifying the challenges for the common use and development of ADR in Poland, and recognising the needs and expectations of businesses and legal communities towards different forms of ADR.

As part of its mission the Commission also initiates debates for the creation of best practices in the use of ADR and shapes new trends in the development of ADR - both in Poland, e.g. by inspiring legislative actions and in the world, e.g. by participating in the work of the ICC, including the ICC Commission on Arbitration and ADR.
