back NewsICC YAAF: The Great Beauty at Issue – Art and Arbitration
ICC YAAF cordially invites you to join a lively ICC YAAF discussion on settling disputes in the art world, followed by a reception, organised at the occasion of Dispute Resolution in M&A Transactions - International Conference in Warsaw, Poland.
This ICC YAAF session offers an opportunity to explore issues concerning art disputes, including the suitability of arbitration as a canvas for resolving such disputes, the unique customs, practices, and needs of the art world, the usual suspects and stakeholders and the typical categories of art disputes, such as those relating to ownership, authenticity, provenance, misrepresentation, fraud, conversion, restitution, contracts, fair use and copyright.
The discussion will examine current trends, the rise of specialized dispute resolution services tailored to art disputes, and the challenges in balancing legal principles, expert evidence in connoisseurship and forensic science, and the practical, personal, and reputational considerations that arise in these sensitive matters.
