ICC Poland at Argentina Week – ICC High-Level Roundtable in Paris 2026-10-02

On 2 October 2026, ICC Poland joined business, government and arbitration leaders in Paris for the Argentina Week ICC High-Level Roundtable, Investing in Argentina: Commercial opportunities of the Mercosur-EU Agreement and the relevance of upholding the rule of law in trade and investment.

Our delegation was led by prof. Beata Gessel-Kalinowska vel Kalisz, President of ICC Poland, accompanied by Bartosz Urbaniak, Head of the Agri-Food Chapter at ICC Poland.

The event opened with remarks by John W.H. Denton AO, ICC Secretary General, and Federico Sturzenegger, Argentina’s Minister of Deregulation and State Transformation, who addressed Argentina’s reform agenda.

Prof. Gessel joined a panel exploring how legal certainty and effective dispute resolution can support long-term investment. Fellow panelists included Sebastián Javier Amerio (Treasury Attorney General of Argentina), Ana Serra e Moura (Deputy Secretary General, ICC International Court of Arbitration), Gonzalo Jaspe (General Counsel, VINCI Construction) and judges of Argentina's federal appellate courts. Discussion was moderated by Juan Pablo Argentato (Managing Counsel, ICC International Court of Arbitration). Minister of Justice of Argentina Juan Bautista Mahiques opened the session.

As the EU–Mercosur Agreement creates new opportunities for trade and investment, Poland’s experience in legal reform and arbitration can contribute valuable perspectives to the discussion.
