On behalf of the ICC Poland Commission on Competition, I have the pleasure to inform you that the Commission is holding a debate titled: THE ROLE OF PROFESSIONAL SECRETS AND THE RIGHT TO DEFENSE IN THE PROCEEDINGS BEFORE ANTITRUST AUTHORITY IN POLAND.

The purpose of the debate will be to answer the question of whether provision of a guarantee for legal services rendered by professional attorneys can solve the problem of protection of entrepreneurs in proceedings before antitrust authorities.

During the debate, there will be a discussion on the issues related to advocate’s and legal counsel’s professional secrets in the context of protection of confidentiality of correspondence between an entrepreneur and a professional attorney (Legal Professional Privilege) during the proceedings before antirust authorities.

Speeches will be delivered, by the following lawyers, among others:

Dariusz Sałajewski, President of the National Council of Legal Advisers

Mikołaj Pietrzak, President of the Human Rights Commission of the Polish Bar Council

Waldemar Koper, President of the Polish Association of Corporate Lawyers
